I'm willing to bet that had this been the reverse, a black man and a white woman, all of you would have NOTHING but catty remarks...kinda like how Taye Diggs is constantly trashed (even though he's been with Idina Menzel for 15 years) on BV. Hypocrisy. Catty remarks??? Maybe.... The issue usually with black men/white women is, in case you don't know, is when they are successful THEN they chose the Faye Rayes.... When they broke down or upwardly mobile...a sista is usually the one holding a brotha down....i.e. Michael Jordan...???? I don't give a care... I don't like the idea of black men and white women... because I am from the south...the white chicks seem to feel they have landed a prize and look to me like "Look what I got that YOU can't have"... believe me, those are the looks.... But you know, most of the brothas that are with white women are not my type anyway, except they are rich... The newly hired head coach of our University of Louisville football team has a white wife... I said, "Damn...and he is fine, too"...but you know, anything for the team...

I think Bobby is great.but I agree with ToddyEnglish.Sisters would lose their minds whenever a brother decides to cross the color line.If they ever decide to do a little self examination and correct some of that foolish behavior of their's and stop always trying to sweep around someone else's back door, more brothers would turm back to them.Close those lips and those hips.

Cmajor1094 "They both come from a time when it wasnt cool to be seen in public with other than someone of your own race." That depends where. The time when this was overcome and ignored in fact was at the end of the 1950s; when De Niro, James Baldwin, Marlon Brando, Eartha Kitt, etc. used to hang out at a coffee-house/club a few blocks further south from Washington Square in Greenwich Village. I can't recall the name off the top of my head; would have to look it up on Songlines street maps that give the history of Manhattan neighborhoods. At that particular time, we used to refer to the invisible bridge that stretched from Uptown to the Village. Many, many young blacks were at the time very curious about the atmosphere of Greenwich Village. However it was sometimes referred to as having "white-itis". Socializing in this way, one virtually ignored what anybody else, any outsider might think. In fact, nobody ever really talked about it much but Anatole Broyard (who was born in New Orleansand whose family moved north to the Bed-Stuy) wrote a small book about it, called"Kafka was the Rage, a Greenwich Village Memoir"). Eartha Kitt, who had been a Katharine Dunham dancer, had done or was about to do a Broadway entertainment,"New Faces of 19..."whatever year that was, in which she recorded what instantly became a very popular song throughout America,"Let's Do it. Let's fall in Love. Birds do it, bees do it. Even educated flees do it. Let's fall in Love. Then, when James Baldwin's novel, Giovanni's Room was published in 1956, there was talk of a movie being made to star Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro. They never made up their mind which of them would play which role; and it never actually got made, possibly by decision that people just weren't ready for it yet. Baldwin went to live in the south of France. Another writer of the time, Leroi Jones(one half of a mixed-couple)and his wife Hettie Jones printed their own broadsheet of their poems in the Village. Today he is known as Amiri Baraku, whether he came from New Jersey originally can't say but he eventually "went back" to Jersey and was named State Poet Laureate and then the darn state took that honor back from him too as they decided not to accept the style in which he was writing. Oh,yes, before I forget, the thing about Baldwin's novel may have been the cause of the start of a rumor which I'd never actually heard before until reading it in this forum tonight, that supposition that Bob was gay. It just figures a rumor might have got started because of the indecisiveness of the two actors about who would get to play which part; however, it was always Marlon Brando who was very open-minded and in no uncertain terms declared himself pro-gay in so far as not having any prejudice against it. So it is interesting how over time reversals of origin or source will get switched around, having just enough seeming grain of truththat will get repeated and seem likely in due course although just the opposite is the basis of the rumor. However, you will never guess who went to interview James Baldwin in France and Jimmy agreed to the interview. Just to avoid anything uncomfortable he told the prospective interviewer( who was very young at the time) that when he got to Paris, he should phone Josephine Baker who had a car and would pick him up at Orly and then drive him to the South; and be sure to remind her to bring a jeroboam of champagne. Josephine would be the interviewer's chaperone and that would avoid ruining Henry Louis Gates,jr.'s reputation for being a young man who went to visit Jimmy Baldwin.

Robert Deniro is a legend and he could have chosen a blonde haired, blue eyed, woman that whites think are the most attractive of all women, but instead he married a beautiful African American (Black) woman. Apparently, he doesn't give a damn what others think of his choice for a wife.

She's gorgeous. I see the black's not crackin' either. His Hollywood peers probably have either white wives who look like 40 going on 60, or 25 year old girlfriends they trade in every five years. Meanwhile, he's got a gorgeous black woman on his arm who's getting better with age.
