Anika Noni Rose on the January Cover of ESSENCE

"I am so honored and so proud and so excited about what this means beyond me, down the line..." --Anika Noni Rose

ESSENCE features "The Princess and the Frog's" Anika Noni Rose on its January cover.

In
the article, "The Princess Diaries," the Tony Award-winning actress
sits down with Hollywood moms and their daughters (including ABC
Family's "Lincoln Heights" star Nicki Micheaux, and FOX's "Glee" star
Amber Riley) to chat about the ongoing need for positive Black female
images in the media.

Nice cover, I wish Anika as much success as she can handle. Its been a long time since Essence used someone other than the usual people, (Mary J, Queen Latifah, Beyonce, etc...).

What a beautiful lady! I'm going to start showing pictures like this to my nieces so that they can see a woman who is sexy while still being classy.

I am so happy and proud of Anika I remember when she was in Dreamgirls (the movie), my mother talked about how the media buzz focused on Beyonce andJennifer Hudson, but not much was said about Anika. As an afterthought, my mother said "Hopefully, one day she'll have her time". Well, this is her time! She's a good actress and the beautiful drawing of the princess looks just like her. She's on the right track in her goal to present positive images of Black women in the media.I will definitely make it a point to see the "Princess and the Frog".

CORRECTION. The second sentence should have read: I remember when she was in Dreamgirls (the movie), my mother and I talked about how the media buzz focused on Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson, but not much was said about Anika.

I just went to see this movie with family and you should have seen all the white people at that movie on a week day in the middle of the day. I wanted to watch it again and again. I can't wait for this to come on DVD, I will watch at least 100 times. GREAT GREAT JOB!
